Yes, well, new fangled technology can be fun or "fun" depending on how you say it. So in an attempt to prevent you getting cross with us and/or throwing your eBook reader across the room, we present our handy Help!!! page. Just click on the relevant subject from the list below.

How do I buy an eBook?

Very easy!

  1. Create an account or sign in if you already have an account.
  2. Find an eBook you want by browsing the categories or doing a search
  3. Add the eBook you want to your basket - make sure you select the format you want first.
  4. Checkout as you would on a normal website
  5. When you have made your payment a screen will show with a link, click on this link to download the file. We will also send you an email with this link on.
  6. You will be prompted to download Adobe Digital Editions if you have not already installed it. This software manages your eBooks and enables download of DRM protected eBooks (currently most eBooks).
  7. You can only download an eBook three (3) times, after the third download it will be locked.

 

How can I tell what format a eBook is in?

At the top of the product page just below the Rating you will see anything from one to four buttons labelled with the format of the eBook (Mobi, ePub, PDF etc...). An audiobook will show MP3 as the format.

Click on the button that corresponds to the format you require before clicking "BUY NOW" to purchase.

 

How do I read my eBook once I downloaded it?

eBooks

If you are downloading an ePub or PDF eBook you must install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer and have it open when you download the link sent in your email.

If you are using Mobi or MSReader software or devices please refer to the instruction manual of the device or software for further details.

Refer to the manufacturer instructions for the eBook reader or other device you intend to read the eBooks with for how to transfer them across from your computer.

 

How do I read my ebooks to my iPad, iPhone...?

We use Adobe ADEPT DRM which can currently be read on your iPhone or iPad via TXTR or Bluefire Reader - both available through iTunes App Store.

 

It Doesn't Work!

Where do I download my purchase from?

You can download your purchase direct from the order complete screen or from the email we send you after you have placed your order. Just click on the highlighted link.

I downloaded my file but I can't find it.

If you are using Adobe Digital Editions your files will be saved in My Documents/My Digital Editions.

Adobe Digital Editions will not open the file

This is really annoying and unfortunately has a lot to do with the way ePub and PDF books have DRM protection to stop piracy...

We have been informed that the best way to get around this is to:

1) Ensure you do not have Sony eBook Library installed - get rid of it if you do.

2) Restart your computer and try again.

3) If that does not work uninstall Adobe Digital Editions and then reinstall it.

4) Restart your computer and try again.

5) If this does not work please visit http://www.adobe.com/uk/support/contact/

 

I can't find the email with the download link!

 

The first email you receive will be from Downloads and entitled Downloads Ready - Your Ebookshoppe Order. Within this email will be a link to the download. You may need to check your spam folder just in case it has ended up in there.

If you still cannot find the email, login to your account and in you can find the download links within your order history.

 

It says "Error! Contact Support!" next to the product name on my email or in the Order Status page

Annoying, but not the end of the world. Very, very, occasionally there is an error with the link. Best way to fix this is to send us a message from "View Messages" within your account page (you will need to sign in). Let us know this has happened and we will try and fix it for you.
